Mountain Fork Kitten Health Guarantee

Mountain Fork/Kelly Gibson guarantees that this kitten is in good health, and comes from a FeLV, FIP and FIV negative cattery. All adult cats have been tested & found negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS. Vaccination with the FIP and FIV vaccines VOIDS ALL HEALTH WARRANTIES. The kitten will be replaced for fatal physical congenital defects medically documented and received within 1 year of adoption. FeLV, FIP, and FIV guarantee is limited to three (3) days once possession has been passed. In order for this health guarantee to be valid, the purchaser must have this cat/kitten examined by a licensed vet within 72 hours of possession of said cat/kitten (not including Sundays and holidays) to confirm cats/kitten's good health. These restrictions are because Breeder has NO control over what kitten is exposed to after leaving Breeder's home. Should a vet find this kitten in ill health, and feel that the illness was present at the time of sale and traceable to our cattery, Breeder will pay medical expenses not to exceed half of the purchase price. Shipping costs, if applicable, are non-refundable. In addition the breeder must be informed of any such problems immediately and prior to any treatment in order for this guarantee to be in effect. The breeder reserves the right to get a second opinion. Declawing VOIDS the health guarantee.

Since some hereditary/congenital problems do not surface until the cat is older, and we have no way of detecting them at an earlier age, breeder will guarantee for the first year against any life threatening or severe *genetic health problems that would substantially shorten the life of this kitten. Upon a Veterinarians confirmation of such onset, the Breeder will at the return of kitten, replace the kitten as soon as a suitable kitten is available. Shipping costs, if applicable, rest solely on Purchaser. Should Purchaser decide to keep said kitten and accept partial refund, Breeder will, upon receipt of proof, refund 50% (Fifty percent) of purchase price. This is a limited warranty; any claims under this guarantee, must be made in the first year of purchase.

* This indicates any genetic defect that would interfere with the purpose of which this cat/kitten was intended as indicated in section 1 of the Adoption Agreement. Severe or life threatening does not include such things as a kinked tail, or polydactyl toes unless the kitten was purchased as a “Breeder”. Please note that during times of stress (like going to a new home) cats can show temporary signs of illness which may include sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea and or constipation. To reduce stress, feed the kitten the same food as the breeder and offer bottled water as well as taking reasonable measures to reduce stress. Introduce the kitten to your family and other pets slowly. Place kitten with carrier in a small room such as a utility room with that door left open. This gives the kitten their “safe place” to return to if they feel threatened by other pets. They will then be able to gain confidence and acclimate themselves to their new surroundings and environment. Responsibility rests solely on the Buyer to make sure the kitten drinks plenty of water in the next few days to insure kitten does not become dehydrated. Dehydration from stress in young kittens can cause liver damage and lead to kidney failure. Seller will not replace a kitten due to owners neglect, such as dehydration.

Should an airline carrier cause the sickness, injury, or death of a kitten from loss, negligence or delay, Seller will not be held liable. Once kitten has been accepted by the airline, we have no control over their actions. Responsibility rests solely on the Buyer to file a claim with an airline carrier at fault.

By signing below, Buyer confirms that Buyer has fully read, and agrees to the terms of this contract, asked any questions and received full explanations on any of the terms stated. Buyer agrees to the above listed restrictions and conditions as written without modification to this contract. All parties signing this contract consider this document to be legally binding.
