About Us
Promoting The Maine Coon Breed

We do not coonsider our hobby  a "cattery" by any means...kittens at Mountain Fork are raised underfoot and their health is our top priority. We only have a few litters a year and each kitten is special to us.

Promoting Maine Coons is our favorite hobby and has become an important part of our lives.

I became interested in the Maine Coon breed while attending a weekend cat show. We were amazed by the sweetness and large but gentle size of the Maine Coons and wanted to know what they were like.  We spoke to numerous breeders and learned as much as possible about Maine Coon cats. I began tracking down info on the internet and reading books & magazines on Maine Coons history, breeding, care, and anything else even remotely relevant. We came to the conclusion that they are wonderful cats and decided we needed one or two… which led to a few.

Maine Coon males on average weigh between 15-22 pounds and females average between 10-15 pounds.  Sometimes ours are larger.

Maine Coon kittens reach "maturity" at around 18 months and reach their full "type" between 4 and 5 years. The females are smaller and slower to mature than the males.  Maine Coons even as mature cats are playful, goofy and curious.  Maine Coons never actually grow up, they just get larger!

Some of our kittens are with white, which means they have white on their paws, chest, face and stomach.

The colors that our girls produce are silver, silver patch tabby, cream/silver, blue/silver, red/silver, blue/silver patch tabby, blue/cream,  cream, red, and brown.

Once you have owned a Maine Coon, to have any other breed would just be like compromise!  They are an important part of our family. We hope to make a Maine Coon kitten a part of your family also.

We use Tidy Cats  clumping cat litter.

We are often asked which brand of cat food we recommend...We feed our cats Royal Canin Maine Coon 31... it is specifically formulated from extensive research on this wonderful breed. Our kittens are weaned onto Royal Canin Baby Kitten 34. On occasion, we also feed our cats Purina Indoor Formula. It has high fiber and protein content, which the Maine Coon breed requires. (We do not represent the companies that makes these products.)
